The Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) Columbus, Ohio, November 2007. PASIC is the largest percussion event in the world featuring over 150 concerts, clinics, master classes, labs, workshops, panels and presentations. This is our trip. |

by Nate Brown Pre-PASIC 2007 Early December of 2006, I contacted YELLOW_TOAD with an idea for OLD to attend PASIC, November 2007 in Columbus, OH. Below is a copy of the message. This is the beginning.
Hello Toad,
I've been talking a lot with some other drummers in the online business and many of their connections and breakthroughs have come from meeting people at large drumming events such as PASIC. I'm just running ideas off the top of my head, but I'd like to raise some money via OnlineDrummer.com to rent out a booth, purchase promotional give-a-ways, buy t-shirts, etc. all for PASIC 2007 in Columbus, OH. Anyway, this is just a thought right now, but if we could raise enough money, would you be willing/able to fly out and join me in representing OnlineDrummer.com. I really think that this is a great step for OnlineDrummer.com. Anyway, it's just a thought and was wondering your thoughts... Nate (December 2, 2006) As the time for PASIC 2007 grew closer, realizing that we really didn't know enough about PASIC to set up a quality booth and to make the best of it, we decided to attend PASIC 2007 as a guest, observing and gathering ideas while meeting people and making connections in the industry. Welcome to the PASIC 2007 OLD Virtual Tour... A Special Thank You Thank you to all those that were able to donate to support OLD in making PASIC 2007 happen. Without your donations, we could not have accomplished these goals. We learned a lot and met many great people. I believe that because of you, OLD has acheived another level of operation, and we'll never be the same. Please take the time to send these members a 'thank you' for their support. PASIC 2007 Every aim and goal that we desired to accomplish at PASIC 2007 has been achieved and more. We really couldn't imagine the impact that this trip would have. I hope you enjoy this virtual tour of our trip and some of the great things that we experienced. I chopped the tour up into sections so that you can skip through and view the sections that you are interested in. I hope you enjoy! Quest For Food Our first goal was to find a place to eat so that we could... well... eat. At the restaraunt we discussed our action plan for PASIC. It took us a couple of hours to find a place to eat. Here's the video... Eating At The Rice Bowl We finally decided on a rather interesting place to eat. Check out the video... Hotel Rooms YELLOW_TOAD and I were glad to get back to our hotel rooms and rest up for PASIC! YELLOW_TOAD'S Turn Back At PASIC, after realizing that there was a police officer watching the crosswalk, YELLOW_TOAD turns around and walks back instead of Jay Walking... PASIC In 2 Minutes Here's a rather "trippy," quick video version of PASIC 2007. We took more pictures than video inside PASIC because we were meeting with people and taking in ideas.
