Fuller Motion Drum Set Warm-up
Many drummers experience the feeling of not being "on" or "locked in" until about 3 songs into a set. Have you ever noticed that when you sit down to jam it takes a little while to feel in the groove? If so, a good warm-up session can help.
This warm-up session not only helps to get in the groove, but it can also prevent injury, similar to stretching and warming up before exercising. I recommend all drummers start with warm-ups before playing. It's a great way to get loose. It's also a perfect time to focus on basic mechanics, such as stick grip, stroke motion, timing, etc.
If you have any warm-ups that you really enjoy, please share them with us in the comments below. We enjoy hearing your ideas, and everyone else will too. Keep drumming!
