I find that thinking about the pattern for what it is rather than how it reads (in this situation, at least) is a better approach to learning it. It really is a simple concept.

For fun, you can layout 3 books or pillows on the table or floor. Use them as your temporary drum kit to play this pattern. It’s a lot of fun!
